No matter where they are in their careers, ambitious leaders can at times find themselves stuck in the wrong situation, looking to get back in gear and start accelerating again.
Maybe you were sure that latest promotion would be yours, only to be passed over for reasons you don't understand.
Maybe you've been in a role a relatively short amount of time, but have discovered that your team faces headwinds that could derail your career progression.
Maybe you're a high performer who fears your company doesn't recognize your value or potential.
Or perhaps everything seems fine, but you simply want to run a diagnostic to make sure your career stays on track. Either way, you're not one to wait for success to find you. If you're at crossroads, let's talk!
Conversations and planning with a trusted coach can be the key to finding a new way forward—whether that's a new approach to climbing the current ladder or a fresh start in a new space. Our career management coaching is tailored to your specific circumstances and is 100% confidential.
Are you feeling that it's time to move up to the next level in your career, but you're unsure how to advance to that more senior level? Are you looking for help in navigating the culture and opportunities of your specific company? A coaching program can help. Our program for this situation consists of five phases to assist you in identifying, obtaining and succeeding in your desired role.
We start by taking a close look at your current situation, including the assets you have in place in terms of your existing relationships, your mindset, and the opportunity space at your company. Then the decision: What new role are you going to pursue?
With the targeted role in our sights, we do a deep dive on what has made people succeed or fail in that role in the past. We also do a gap analysis to see where you need to level up both to get and to succeed in that new role, as well as a plan to close those gaps.
What's your current brand in your organization? How might that need to change to get your desired role? We do a close analysis of how others perceive you , including an optional 360 Degree Assessment. Then we help you develop a brand that aligns with your target role, including rehearsing conversations to help you get there.
You've landed your next dream job, and you're getting ready for that first day. We do strong prep to help you show up and make your mark right out of the gate. And we strategize for you to lead and transform your team, influence and enlist support from across your organization, and achieve strong early results. That way, you keep the momentum going and demonstrate you were the right choice for the role.
Even with thorough planning, new and unexpected obstacles always crop up. We talk regularly and proactively as you move deeper into your new role to make sure you're meeting your company's expectations, overcoming challenges, and showing your long-term potential as a senior leader for your company.
We want to make your career journey the best it can be for you. Sometimes a change of direction is what we need to find fulfilling work.
If you think the time is right to explore a brand-new career, our five-phase approach is just one of the ways we can help you find and move to the next chapter of your story.
The first step is all about self-knowledge. What types of activities, emotions and achievements bring you the greatest satisfaction? What skills and experiences make up your strengths—whether from your past jobs or your personal life? What's non-negotiable in a new career and where do you want to case a wide net? We think practically and dream big.
With some clear direction in mind from the previous phase, we develop an action plan to investigate selected career options, understand what each of them would truly be like, and ensure that sill aligns with your goals.
We have a specific target career or role in mind, and now is the time to get ready for it. We look to close any gaps for required knowledge and skills, build a plan for making the right connections, and start to get ready to talk to key contacts, recruiters, search committees and hiring managers. This includes deep preparation for interviews.
Congratulations! You've landed your first role in your new career. Now it's time to get ready to start. We help you show up the right way, build support across your new team and beyond, and start to log results that will make your new organization happy they hired you.
Especially when you enter a new field, it's important to keep a steady and proactive eye on how things are going. We regularly assess progress and help you proactively circumvent potential challenges, all while building a reputation as someone who can achieve strong results.
Special Notice for Recently Laid Off Workers
It is not uncommon to feel that our job is part of our identity and our purpose. Losing one’s job due to an unanticipated layoff, whatever the reason for the decision, can be devastating. It is a time when we probably most need the insight of a career coach to help us on our way. However, realistically, we are watching our expenses and might feel we should only spend money on necessities, such as food and housing, when our employment income has stopped.
If you have recently been laid off from your job, I want to help you move on to your next role. It’s a small way for me to pay back/forward for my good career fortune and the people who have helped me along the way.
I am offering free career coaching. Here are the terms if you wish to accept them:
NOTE: A maximum of five (5) clients per month will be accepted under the above terms.
